Dolphin Star (Hoku Nai'a) departs from Wai‘anae Boat Harbor, 85-371 Farrington Hwy.; pickup and drop-off service is available from Waikīkī hotels for a fee. This 149-passenger catamaran offers eco-friendly, narrated dolphin-watching cruises with guaranteed sightings. Whale sightings are possible December through April. The 2-hour Wild Dolphin Watch & BBQ tour, with a crew of certified naturalists, includes a children's program, a video presentation, fruit punch, drinking water and lunch. The 3-hour Wild Dolphin Watch, BBQ and Snorkel tour is led by trained divers. Snorkel equipment is provided, and participants can expect to see coral formations and such marine creatures as the Hawaiian green sea turtle. Smoking is not permitted. Comfortable clothing and shoes are recommended for the dolphin-watching tour. A towel and sunscreen are recommended for the snorkeling trip. Inquire about cancellation policies. Food is available. Time: Allow 3 hours minimum.

Hours: Departures daily at 9:30 and noon. Closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving, day of Honolulu Marathon and Christmas. Passengers should arrive 30 minutes prior to departure.
