Pros: We loved our stay at Andaz. For us, Andaz is the single and very significant reason we would return to Maui- we can't wait to go back! The rooms are very funky and modern, and the entire resort is beautiful. We loved dining at Morimoto, and enjoyed Ka'ana Kitchen too. The service was probably amongst the best I had experienced. My son (being a typical 2 year old boy!) hit his head on the reception desk and within a minute the staff had provided us ice packs and a first aid kit. An amazing response!
Cons: My most significant recommendation is to consider isolating (closing the doors perhaps) the doors to the service stairway. There is (probably) a garbage collection area at the ground level of this and the odours travel up the stairway and through to the (highly utilised) elevator access foyer. Pillows are a little flat.

Pros: We picked the Andaz because of its intimate setting. Didn't want a HUGE resort. Breakfast was amazing. Room was wonderful. Had ocean view room. Pools were great. Mai Tai's were delicious. Beach was great. Snorkeled with sea turtle - used hotel's free snorkel gear. Everyone wonderful. Overall - fantastic!!! Didn't want to leave, wanted to extend stay. Enjoyed the water bottles and ice and water in the hall. Valets were friendly.
Cons: We really enjoyed our stay however, Breakfast was very expensive. Bathroom doors, closet doors not user friendly. Overall odd bathroom layout. One female concierge was not helpful at all. Didn't care for the dinner menu in the main upstairs restaurant. Pretentious menu and expensive. Should've eaten by the pool.

Pros: The staff there is extremely responsive and helpful. They really do work hard to please you. Also the property itself is perfect, just the right size and a perfect location with great pools, lots of amenities, and a spectacular beach location and grounds.
Cons: It's odd that the property lacks some really basic amenities. For example they don't have ice and water on each floor -- how odd!! Also they provide water carafe's but then forget to provide a clean one in your room each day. And then they forgot to leave 2 coffee cups each day. And the cleaning is not all that thorough. Also the room designs are really odd! The bathroom doors don't close easily at all -- lacking privacy. And the lighting system is really over-thought, not simple to use. So odd! Also the privacy screens on the glass door are one large screen, impossible to reach through in order to open and close the glass doors. Weird! Why not just split them? Some interior designer really sold them a bill of goods, wow, such stupid stuff. Finally, the sinks are are terrible design! Flat, now way to drain well, they are constantly dirty and won't drain easily. Stupid design!

Pros: Plenty of chairs around the pools. No "saving" chairs.
Cons: $17 for a titos & lemonade
