Jasper County Historical Museum is at 1700 S. 15th Ave. W. The museum features the Washing Machine Center of the World historical exhibit that includes local manufacturers and an extensive Maytag washing machine collection. A sculpture area includes a 37-foot bas-relief mural portraying Jasper County history, Neal Deaton model of the Smithsonian Elephant and two Alexander Phimister Proctor sculptures, a 6-foot-tall Indian Maiden and Fawn and a 2-foot-long version of his Princeton Tiger.

Also displayed are reproductions of period buildings, including a Victorian house, furniture store, post office, barbershop, chapel, general store, school and millinery shop. The agricultural buildings feature vintage tractors, a steam engine, horse-drawn implements, a Newton Seed Store display, a transportation history display and Winderful Tales exhibit, the story of power and energy. Temporary exhibits and a research library also are available.
