Dworshak National Fish Hatchery, s.e. on SR 7 at the confluence of the North Fork and Main Stem Clearwater rivers, just below Dworshak Dam. About 2.1 million steelhead trout, 1.5 million Chinook salmon and 400,000 coho salmon are raised in environmentally controlled ponds. The best time to see the adult steelhead is November through April; the returning salmon brood stock July through October.
Displays, a viewing balcony above the spawning room and 126 outdoor ponds are on-site. A self-guiding tour is available.
