Idaho World Famous Hot Pools and Olympic Swimming Complex, on US 30E, is a state-owned facility that consists of hot mineral pools on the end of town and outdoor Olympic-size swimming pools with slides and diving boards as well as an indoor aquatic center and kiddie cove on the west end. The Sunken Gardens bloom on terraces that cling to the walls of an extinct volcano. Snowmobiling and skiing, subject to local weather conditions, are possible on the surrounding mountains.

Mineral bath Fri.-Sun. and holidays $8; $7.50 (ages 3-11 and 60+); $2 (ages 0-2). Mineral bath Mon.-Thurs. $6; $5.50 (ages 3-11 and 60+); $2 (ages 0-2). Swimming pool Fri.-Sun. and holidays $10; $9 (ages 3-11); $2 (ages 0-2). Swimming pool Mon.-Thurs. $7.50; $7 (ages 3-11); $2 (ages 0-2). A combination mineral bath and swimming pool all-day pass is available, as are discounted family rates on Wed.

Mineral baths daily 8 a.m.-11 p.m., May-Sept.; Sun.-Thurs. 9 a.m.-10 p.m., Fri.-Sat. 9 a.m.-11 p.m., rest of year. Swimming pool daily noon-8, mid-May through Labor Day. Indoor swimming pool and kiddie cove open year-round with limited hours. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
