University of Idaho Arboretum and Botanical Garden is on the s. side of the campus at 1200 W. Palouse River Dr. The 63-acre arboretum features gravel and bark trails leading through plantings grouped into four geographical areas: Asia, Europe, Eastern North America and Western North America. A display garden, showing off irises, daylilies, heather and xeriscape techniques, is at the arboretum’s southern end, along with a butterfly garden. Hosta gardens are located at the north end.
