Carl Sandburg State Historic Site

Carl Sandburg State Historic Site, at 313 E. Third St., is a three-room cottage that was the birthplace of Carl Sandburg. The neighboring visitor center contains a museum devoted to the life and works of the Pulitzer Prize-winning poet and Lincoln biographer. Behind the cottage is Remembrance Rock, Sandburg's gravesite and memorial garden.

A 20-minute video presentation is available, and a summer concert series is offered.
