Villa Kathrine, Quincy's Tourist Information Center is at 532 Gardner Expwy. The site is a Great River Road Interpretive Center and overlooks the Mississippi River. Villa Kathrine was built in 1900 by wealthy Quincy native and world traveler George Metz. The Mediterranean-style building was designed based on his sketches and notes and has many whimsical features not usually found in the Midwest including a minaret, Italian light fixtures, twisted pillars, an arched courtyard and a mosaic-lined reflecting pool.

Guided tours require a minimum of 10 people and are available by appointment.
