Burpee Museum of Natural History is at 737 N. Main St. in the Riverfront Museum Park. Exhibits include collections relating to American Indians, animals, plants, minerals, fossils, a coal forest with thunderstorms, rocks and mounted birds and mammals as well as a full-size cast of an adult T. rex skeleton.

Jane: Diary of a Dinosaur is an exhibit housing a remarkably complete 66-million-year-old fossilized skeleton of a juvenile T. rex discovered in 2001. Homer, a Triceratops discovered in 2005, also is on display. Visitors can watch scientists at work through the Paleo Viewing Lab window.

Traveling exhibits and special events are offered.
