McLean County Museum of History is at 200 N. Main St.; the entrance is on W. Washington St. The museum is in the former county courthouse built in 1903, where five galleries depict the history of the county and life on the prairie. The Making a Home exhibit explores the individuals who settled in the county, while the Abraham Lincoln in McLean County display describes his role prior to his presidency. The historic Gov. Fifer Courtroom retains its judge's bench and jury box, and a library contains historical and genealogical information. The site also houses the Cruisin' with Lincoln on 66 Visitors Center with interactive exhibits about Abraham Lincoln and historic Route 66.
