Museum of Contemporary Art, 1 blk. e. of Michigan Ave. at 220 E. Chicago Ave., displays contemporary paintings, photography, sculpture and other visual art forms created since 1945. Works by current local, national and international artists are represented in the museum's collections. Lectures and performances are scheduled frequently. Special exhibits also are presented. Audio tours are available for some exhibitions. Guided tours are available. Food is available. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
$12; $7 (ages 66+ and students with ID); free (ages 0-12, military, police and firefighters with ID and Illinois residents on Tues.).
Hours: Tues.-Sun. 10-5 (also Tues. 5-8). Exhibition tours are given Tues.-Fri. at 1 (also Tues. at 2), Sat.-Sun. on the hour noon-3. A Spanish-language tour is offered the second Tues. of the month at 6 p.m. Tours designed for adults with young children are offered the first Wed. of the month at 11:30. Closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
