National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame is at 1431 W. Taylor St. Exhibits describe the accomplishments of Italian-American sports figures. Highlights include swimmer Matt Biondi’s 11 Olympic medals, Rocky Marciano’s World Heavyweight Championship Belt, Vince Lombardi's last coat worn as coach of the Green Bay Packers, Mary Lou Retton's size 2 gymnastic shoes, 'The Duke' sudden death football from the 1958 NFL Championship Game and Alan Ameche's Heisman Trophy. Visitors also can see three formula race cars suspended from the ceiling and the Arizona Diamondbacks 2001 World Series Championship Trophy. Exhibits on the second floor include sports memorabilia and Joe Amato's 32-foot-long dragster.
