AAA Inspector Notes
XOCO is Mexican slang for 'little sister,' and this is the quick-serve little-sister restaurant from the Frontera restaurant group and its well-known owner-chef, Rick Bayless. They offer a twist on some of Mexico's most beloved street food and snacks, including fresh-from-the-wood-burning-oven torta sandwiches with ingredients like roasted suckling pig with spicy achiote dipping sauce and homemade chorizo sausage with melted jack cheese. Try the more hearty caldos that include crispy yet tender pork belly with woodland mushrooms and organic shrimp, mussels and catfish served with cilantro and lime. Prepare to wait in line, especially at lunch and dinner, as XOCO doesn't take reservations.
