C.H. Moore Homestead is 1 blk. e. of US 51 at 219 E. Woodlawn St. Built in 1863 for John Bishop, a prosperous merchant, the house incorporates both Italianate and Second Empire architectural styles. The site later was home to Clifton H. Moore, an associate of Abraham Lincoln. Furnishings are early Victorian with a French influence. Exhibits include a doll collection, World War I weapons, Native American artifacts and articles devoted to the history of DeWitt County. A farm, carriage barn, covered bridge and general store are on the grounds. The annual Apple and Pork Festival is held in September.
