AAA Editor Notes
Kohl Children's Museum is between Willow Rd. and Lake Ave. at 2100 Patriot Blvd. Based on the concept that children learn by doing, the museum is structured to allow a hands-on understanding of the world of science, basic life skills and the arts.
Exhibits include Water Works, where children can explore the properties of water, and a play construction zone. McCormick Foundation Main Street features such child-size businesses as a supermarket, a veterinarian office and a café. Turtle Rock is an interactive exhibit where you can watch several species of turtles swim and feed. Habitat Park, a 2-acre outdoor nature park, offers winding paths, a prairie grass maze, an underground tunnel and interactive sculptures.
Food is available. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
