Center for American Archeology (CAA) is on SR 100 at jct. Oak St. The center is located along the scenic Illinois River in Calhoun County, an area known for its natural beauty. This region including the confluence of the Mississippi and Illinois rivers has been continuously inhabited for more than 10,000 years by various civilizations and through changing natural environments. The CAA museum contains exhibits of prehistoric and historic archeology of the region. Educational programs are offered in summer.
