Douglas-Hart Nature Center

Douglas-Hart Nature Center is at 2204 Dewitt Ave. E. A visitor center offers hands-on displays and a library. More than 170 different species of birds—including hawks, turkey vultures, American kestrels and warblers—pass through the nature preserve, which features 65 acres of prairie, wetland and forest. Also available are interpretive programs and guided walks, wildlife observation stations, 2 miles of trails and a seasonal butterfly garden.

Guided tours require a minimum of 10 people and are available by appointment.
