Schuyler County Jail Museum and Genealogical Center is at 200 S. Congress St., at the corner of Congress and Madison sts. The restored 1857-58 jail, now a museum, contains historical displays of soldiers' uniforms, period clothing, Native American relics, medical implements, household utensils, tools and small machinery. An exhibit dedicated to birds of the National Audubon Society also is on display.

Hours: Museum open daily 1-4, Apr. 1-Nov. 1. Genealogical center open daily 1-4, Apr. 1-Nov. 1; Sat.-Sun. 1-4, rest of year. Closed major holidays.
