AAA Editor Notes
Lincoln Depot Historic Site, at 10th and Monroe sts., originally was the Great Western Railroad Depot where Lincoln made his farewell address before leaving to assume the presidency. This concise and emotional speech has been compared with the Gettysburg Address for its eloquence. The first floor features exhibits about Lincoln and train artifacts. A 20-minute video presentation re-creates Lincoln's journey to his inauguration. His address, a living history program, is presented during the summer.
