Thomas Rees Memorial Carillon, in Washington Park, is a 12-story tower with three observation decks that permit close inspection of the 67 imported bronze bells ranging from 22 pounds to more than 7 tons each. The annual International Carillon Festival takes place early June. Other events are held throughout the year.

Hours: Carillon tours Wed. and Sat.-Sun. noon-6, May-Sept.; by appointment rest of year. Concerts are given Wed. and Sat.-Sun. at 6:30 p.m. (also Sat.-Sun. at 2), May-Sept.; Wed. at noon, Sun. at 2 and 4, rest of year. Allow 30 minutes minimum.
