AAA Editor Notes
General Lew Wallace Study & Museum, Home of “Ben-Hur” is at 200 Wallace Ave. The study was built as the general's personal retreat in the 1890s using the royalties from "Ben-Hur," his novel. Wallace wrote the majority of “Ben-Hur” on the study grounds; the book was completed in New Mexico. Displays of memorabilia chronicle Wallace's roles as a diplomat, lawyer, state senator, Civil War general, scholar and writer.
