Ernie Pyle World War II Museum is .5 mi. n. of US 36 on SR 71. The lives of ordinary soldiers during World War II are highlighted through the writings of Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Ernie Pyle. Two World War II Quonset huts serve as the visitor center, which includes audio and video stations, and World War II uniforms, weapons and gear. The site also includes the furnished early 1900s house from the farm where Pyle was born in 1900. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
