Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. We thought the freeway access was very good. The hotel is undergoing some renovations but it did not inconvenience us at all. There were a few things in our room that needed to be fixed and we told the hotel staff about them. They didn't need to be done while we were there. What was offered for breakfast was very good, a big selection of items.
Cons: The driveway going into the hotel had some big pot holes in it and when they filled with water from the rain, you didn't know they were there. Having a couple of tables, chairs and umbrellas in the back patio outside the pool would be a great feature, especially in the warm months.

Cons: The room smells and there was lots of dust on the bed when we checked in. Asked the staff for a room change. Was told there was none available.

Pros: Better than average-included breakfast, clean facility, very friendly and helpful staff.

Pros: The staff tried to be as helpful as possible. Rooms were clean but common areas where dirty due to construction.
Cons: screwed up my reservation according to hotel. According to staff this has happened to other guests. The hotel set me up with what rooms were left. However I had to pay the difference between what was available and what I contracted for. Hotel under construction. This was not disclosed on pool out of order.

Pros: We always stay at Holiday Inn Express whenever we are traveling. We stayed at the other Elkhart Holiday Inn last time but booked rooms into this hotel for our daughter's graduation from Notre Dame. I called ahead of time and told them that we were traveling with my mom (age 94) and my in laws, also elderly, and asked about accommodations. Unfortunately, when we arrived, they were not prepared for us, (and this was after midnight) and my husband and daughter had to carry a rollaway bed down a flight of stairs for my mom to sleep in after being told that we would have two queen beds. We were told that the renovation was not complete and the room we were promised was not ready. My mom, therefore, slept on a rollaway bed for six nights. In addition, the handicap tub had no stripping on the bottom, was very slippery and my mom had a terrible time taking a shower. We had booked five different rooms and everyone had slippery tubs, (and when we notified the manager, she said they did not put strips in the bottom of tubs, or non slip mats either,) two of our parties arrived back at the hotel with their doors unlocked, and one had water on the carpet at the side of the bed for the last three days they were there. Having said all this, the breakfast was fine and the area beautiful. Staff should not promise that rooms will be ready, especially for older citizens, if there is a chance that they won't be.
Cons: I think we should be reimbursed for some of the accommodations because it was clearly a matter of the construction not being finished and we were certainly not given a stay that lives up to any of the other Holiday Inn Express Hotels that we have stayed in before and I was and am concerned that my mom was not given a proper bed to sleep in or a handicap tub that was safe to take a shower in.
