The USS LST-325 Ship Memorial is at 840 LST Dr., following signs from 1801 Waterworks Rd. This ship serves as a museum and memorial to those men who served and died on LST (Landing Ship, Tank) amphibious vessels, which were used during World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars to transport personnel, supplies and vehicles, particularly tanks, to shorelines. The ship participated in many wartime operations, including the 1944 invasion of Normandy, before she was decommissioned. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
$10; $5 (ages 6-17). Last admission 1 hour before closing.
Hours: Guided tours Mon.-Sat. 10-4, Sun. noon-4, Memorial Day-Labor Day; Tues.-Sat. 10-4, Sun. noon-4, Mar 1-day before Memorial Day and day after Labor Day to Dec. 1. Sat. 10-4 and by appointment Dec. 2-Apr. 1. Closed Jan. 1, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
