Fort Wayne Children's Zoo is at 3411 Sherman Blvd. in Franke Park. The 40-acre zoo is home to more than 1,000 animals from around the world. Giraffes, hyenas, lions and zebras inhabit the African Journey area. The Indonesian Rain Forest includes Orangutan Valley and Tiger Forest. A kangaroo walkabout and stingray touch tank are found in the Australian Adventure. Children can ride a pony and pet miniature donkeys and goats at the Indiana Family Farm area. A carousel, miniature train, Crocodile Cree log ride and the Sky Safari ride provide even more fun. Picnicking is permitted at Franke Park, while zoo pavilions are available for picnic rentals. Food is available.
$14; $10.50 (ages 60+); $9 (ages 2-18). Additional fees for rides and animal food.
Hours: Daily 9-7, Memorial Day-Labor Day; 9-5 late Apr.-day before Memorial Day and day after Labor Day to mid Oct. Grounds close at 6.
