Fort Wayne Museum of Art is at 311 E. Main St. The museum's rotating exhibits often focus on interdisciplinary arts and feature works by regional and national artists. As you make your way through the galleries housing the permanent collection, you'll see furniture, brilliant-cut glass and decorative arts from the 18th century followed by displays of 19th- and 20th-century drawings, paintings, photographs, prints and sculpture. In the children's area, kids can paint with a touch screen that projects images onto the wall, play an artist trivia game and work on puzzles. An art research library also is on site. Parking is available in the lot behind the museum and in nearby garages. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
$8; $6 (children and students with ID); $20 (family); free (military and their families with ID and to all on Thurs. and Sun.). Guided tour additional $3; $2 (students with ID).
Hours: Tues.-Sat. 10-6 (also Thurs. 6-8 p.m.), Sun. noon-5. Guided tours lasting 45 to 60 minutes are available by reservation Tues.-Fri. 10-4. Closed major holidays.
