Maple Wood Nature Center is 3.5 mi. e. on US 20, 1 mi. s. on CR 400E, then .5 mi. e. on CR 100S to 4550 E. 100S. The visitor center at this 139-acre environmental education facility offers exhibits about local birds, mammals and plants. Hiking trails pass through a mature northern hardwood forest and wildflower areas. Maple Syrup Days celebrate the maple sugar harvest the third weekend in March. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.

Hours: Trails daily 8-dusk. Visitor center Wed. 8-4, Sat. 9-5, Sun. 1-5 (closed Sun. in July).
