Jefferson County Historical Society Museum and Madison Railroad Station is at 615 W. First St. The restored 1895 octagonal wooden railroad depot has a two-story waiting room with stained glass windows and features a collection of railroad posters and relics. The museum displays exhibits relating to the history of southeastern Indiana, the Civil War and steam boating. An antique caboose is on the grounds.
