Squire Boone Caverns and Village is 3 mi. e. of SR 135 at 100 Squire Boone Rd. S.W. Discovered in 1790 by Daniel Boone and his brother Squire, the caverns feature twisted helictite formations and rare rimstone dams. A 73-step spiral staircase must be climbed on the 1-hour tour of the caverns. The grave of Squire Boone can be reached via a 2-mile trail. The village features crafts demonstrations and a restored water-powered gristmill where cornmeal is ground.
A jacket is recommended, as the temperature inside the cave is a constant 54 F.
