AAA Inspector Notes
The restaurant is in a suburban strip mall, but the décor inside is reminiscent of a country crossroads feed store. With its sawn timber walls, concrete floors and animal feed ads posted on the walls, this place has a bucolic ambience. Enjoy tangy barbecue pork, beef and chicken with fresh yeast rolls, fried corn on the cob and creamy buttermilk pie. Combination dinners and platters are popular, letting patrons sample a variety. Burgers, sandwiches and baby back ribs also are on the menu. One unusual dish is burgoo, a hearty vegetable stew. In the autumn months, look for pumpkin buttermilk pie on the menu.
