John Hay Center is at 307 E. Market St. The center contains two museums, a pioneer village and the John Hay Home. The statesman's birthplace has been restored and furnished in 1840s style. The Stevens Memorial Museum houses historical artifacts and replicas of 19th-century professional offices. The Depot Railroad Museum features antique furniture from railroad stations as well as other railroad memorabilia. Guided tours of the village and museums are available. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
Train museum $2; free (ages 0-12). Memorial museum $2; free (ages 0-6). Village tour $2. Library fee $3. Phone ahead to confirm schedule and admission.
Hours: Memorial museum and village Tues.-Sat. 9-5. Train museum Tues.-Sat. 1-4, Apr.-Dec.; Sat. 1-4, rest of year. Closed major holidays.
