Theodore M. Hesburgh Library is at the east quadrangle on the University of Notre Dame campus. The 14-story library holds nearly 3 million research volumes and can accommodate more than half the student body. “The Word of Life,” a massive granite mosaic, covers the southern wall. Football fans can see this figure of Christ, raising his hands in benediction, from the north goal post—hence the nickname “Touchdown Jesus.”
Hours: Open daily 24 hours, in summer; Fri. 7:30 a.m.-11 p.m., Sat. 9 a.m.-11 p.m., Sun. 10 a.m.-11 p.m., fall and spring semesters.
