CANDLES Holocaust Museum and Education Center is at 1532 S. 3rd St. CANDLES, which stands for Children of Auschwitz Nazi Deadly Lab Experiments Survivors, was founded by Eva Mozes Kor, who, along with her twin sister, endured Dr. Josef Mengele’s genetic experiments in the Auschwitz concentration camp. Photos, documents, videos and other items educate visitors about the Holocaust. Kor and other Holocaust survivors serve as docents and share their personal stories during 1.5- to 2-hour presentations.
