Laura Ingalls Wilder Park and Museum is at 3603 236th Ave./US 52. The “Little House on the Prairie” author and her family lived and worked in this hotel for a part of the year (1876-77) they spent in Burr Oak. A tour guide interprets the history of the restored 11-room building, its period furnishings and the author's personal belongings. This is believed to be the only childhood home of Wilder that remains on its original site. Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
$8; $6 (ages 6-17); $30 (family, parents and children).
