University of Iowa Museum of Natural History is in Macbride Hall at 17 N. Clinton St. The museum houses animal, plant, fossil and anthropological collections. Exhibits in Iowa Hall illustrate the state's geology, native culture and ecology. Highlights include the Marquette-Joliet diorama, a Meskwaki Indian lodge and a life-size reconstruction of a giant ice-age ground sloth. Guided tours are available with 1-week advance reservation.
