Kalona Historical Village is at jct. Ninth St. and SR 22 at 715 D Ave. Among the preserved 19th-century buildings are the Rock Island Railroad Depot, which contains train memorabilia; Iowa Mennonite Museum; Straw College, a one-room school; the Agricultural Building, which houses old machinery; the 1867 Grout Church; and Kempftown Store, a turn-of-the-20th-century country store.
The visitor center features two quilt galleries, a gem and mineral collection and a spool cabinet display.
