Plymouth County Historical Museum is at 335 1st Ave. S.W. Highlights include religious exhibits with a century-old painting of Christ, restored aircraft, tractors, agricultural artifacts, a medical history room, a collection of kitchen items from 1900 to the present, a Loess Hills exhibit, a 1900s Le Mars Main Street Hall with shop replicas, a hand-carved doll collection and two 1800s log cabins. On the top level of the five-floor museum is a restored study hall featuring a gym floor from the 1950s. Guided tours are available by appointment.
