Hitchcock House is 1 mi. w. on Nishna Valley Rd. Guided tours take visitors through the 1856 sandstone house built by Congregationalist minister and ardent abolitionist Rev. George B. Hitchcock. The two-story house is a National Historic Landmark. A secret room in the basement served as a refuge for fugitive slaves traveling the Underground Railroad.

Guided tours are available.
