AAA Editor Notes
Charles H. MacNider Art Museum is at 303 2nd St. S.E. The museum is housed in an English Tudor Revival-style mansion with contemporary additions on a cliff overlooking Willow Creek. A permanent collection of American art dates from the 19th century. A puppet gallery displays puppets, marionettes and related props created by puppeteer and Mason City native Bil Baird. The Imagination Playground provides an interactive play area for children and families. Changing exhibits and arts events also are featured.

An audio tour is available. A Prairie School architecture walking tour is offered in summer.
