Grout Museum District is along US 218 on Washington and South sts. at Washington Park; parking is at Washington and Park sts. Henry Whittemore Grout, a local financier and state legislator, collected some 2,000 items in his world travels and bequeathed the collection to the city upon his death in 1932. That endowment has grown to include four museums: Bluedorn Science Imaginarium; Grout Museum of History & Science; Rensselaer Russell House; and Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum.
