Madison County Historical Complex is at 815 S. Second Ave. The 18-acre complex comprises more than a dozen 19th-century buildings, including the 1856 Bevington Kaser House and stone barn. A church, blacksmith shop, log post office, train depot, turn-of-the-20th-century schoolhouse and a neighborhood mercantile complete the village atmosphere.
The museum displays fossils, minerals, Native American artifacts, military memorabilia from the Civil War to the present and pioneer items.
Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
