Great hotel, friendly staff ,...
Pros: The hotel is clean and big. The staff is friendly. The room was clean and modern. Many pools , for adults and kids. The beach was clean and the ocean water warm but murky. The town is 10 minutes away.
Cons: The food and drinks were horrible. The first night we arrived , we tried ( 9 people int the group ) Castaways seafood restaurant and it was not that great. I did not like the fish so I ordered the rib eye and it was not seasoned or cooked properly. Most of us had to return the plates back so we can order other things from the menu. I ordered a Mojito and when i got it I thought i was given a glass of water ! I asked the waiter if i was given someone else's drink but he told me that the drink is fine and this is how they make drinks for Americans because we don't like them strong ! From that point on I just ordered shots of Hornitos tequila or just Hornitos with a splash of lemon juice. The next day , we tried the Mexican place , downstairs, and their food was almost uneatable. I was frustrated with what I got , so I ordered chicken tacos to keep it simple. I got three dry (probably microwaved chicken ) tacos with nothing in them. Did not even try the Japanese or the Italian place next door because if you cannot have decent Mexican food in Mexico , why even bother with Japanese or Italian . We left the hotel and went to some local Mexican restaurants and had great Mexican seafood/pastor. P.S: - The staff at the restaurants and the buffet were friendly and very helpful. - The buffet was the best thing they had at the hotel. We just ate their the whole time.
Not our style of vacationing
Cons: This property took a very heavy sales approach to us upon arrival and continued for the first 24 hours. This was extremely frustrating, as they would not take no for an answer.
Very Average
Pros: view
Cons: front desk always a huge wait beach full of rocks food same same same not to much to choose from. pillows horrible spa so.......expensive.
Just got back yesterday and...
Pros: The hotel was amazing! We just got back yesterday. The service was excellent, the staff was incredible, the kids club exceeded my expectations and the rooms and resort were stunning. We stayed on the priority side on the 2nd floor which has a small bar with a TV on our floor. Our room had its own jacuzzi on the patio which the kids loved. I would highly recommend this hotel for your Puerto Vallarta vacation. We were very happy staying here!
Pros: I loved the swim-out pool off of our room. It was super convenient with our son. The rooms were clean & were well appointed. We liked that the hotel was close to the malecon (about 75 pesos to the top of it) and we were well situated for day trips out to other towns like Sayulita & Mismayola.
Cons: The staff gave us no information upon arrival, not where the restaurants were located/dress code, pool info, nothing. It was here is your room key & off you go. That was pretty much the overarching sentiment by staff. There were a couple of staff who were willing to go the extra mile, but for the most part it seemed as if they were focused on selling time shares. We requested a late check-out & they wanted to charge us per hour *we only wanted to check out at 1pm & the hotel policy is 12* I was a little annoyed at that after having received the bleh customer service* -- perhaps I'm just not cut out for an all inclusive. You could only order drinks at the bar itself and the room service menu was really limited. If I did it again I probably wouldn't go back, but explore other options.
