From the road this hotel looks like an Italian palace painted brilliantly white with grand columns and a striking edifice. Overflowing with many forms of art, including sculptures and paintings, the property seems more like an art gallery than hotel. The elevated pool with striking vistas is in the shape of the island of Jamaica.

Pros: Jamaica Palace is a reflection of a time that is almost lost - old fashion charm and values. Excellent service, once a family run resort with some of the original staff still present. It seems to have been a thriving hotel 30 years ago but is now much quieter. An excellent base to visit Blue Lagoon and Boston, if you want the best Jerk on the island.
Cons: Portland was once a thriving destination, but since the cruise ships moved to Oche Rios the area has become very quiet. The rooms looked special and were very comfortable, but lacked some modern expectations like a fridge, hairdryer, kettle.
Cons: Expected something much better for the price paid.
Pros: Good food in the on site restaurant. The pool was clean and the grounds well maintained.
Cons: Kinda far from town and the beach. The road leading to the hotel is terrible, needs pot holes filled. Nice back bar and outdoor patio space thats abandoned. Dated TV in room.
Pros: The coziness and beauty
Cons: I did not like the lack of proper TV channels. The variety and transmission was poor. I am a TV person.

Pros: Impressive building, well maintained with a great view, beautiful garden and pool, clean and spacious rooms, friendly front desk staff
Cons: Parrots locked in cages at the terrace were a sad view. Hotel restaurant was a bit overpriced; the village nearby was a bit dodgy.

Pros: The ambiance was great
Cons: The agency posted one rate and confirmed another...I will book directly with hotel next time...Rate was very expensive and did not include breakfast. ..even though it was advertised as such...
Pros: The cleanliness of the facility. Rooms were clean every day. The warmness of the staff. The beautiful view from the room balcony.
Cons: Didn't have any bad experience . The only things they could improve on are , refrigerator and microwave wasn't in the rooms. Also the iron and ironing bird had to be checked out from the office by the visitors . Everything was else excellent .
