In 1939, Lena Benson turned this stately farmhouse into a restaurant and served food here until her retirement in 1974. During that time, President Eisenhower, who was raised in Abilene, frequented Lena's. The current owners restored the farmhouse, which they purchased from Lena herself, in 1995. Among the menu highlights are pan-fried chicken, excellent onion rings, and homemade lemon meringue pie. You absolutely must save room for a slice of delicious pie, many varieties are available.
