St. Rose Philippine Duchesne Memorial Park and Shrine is 3 mi. n. on CR 1077, 2 mi. e. to 8499 W. CR 1525 Rd. The shrine preserves the site of a mid-1800s Pottawatomie Indian reservation that was founded with the help of nuns and Jesuit priests. The elderly Sister Rose Philippine Duchesne particularly was devoted to the cause. Memorials, historical markers and a Native American burial site are in the 169-acre park, as are nature trails.
Primitive camping is available by permit.
Camping is permitted. Picnicking is permitted.
