National Orphan Train Complex

National Orphan Train Complex is at 300 Washington St. The museum and research center tell the story of the 1854-1929 Orphan Train Movement during which more than 250,000 abandoned children were transported out of overpopulated eastern cities. The relocation, which laid the foundation for the present-day foster care system, is documented through exhibits.
