Strataca—Kansas Underground Salt Museum

Strataca—Kansas Underground Salt Museum is at 3650 E. Ave. G. This tour starts with a safety video. A double-decked elevator then lowers visitors 650 feet underground into a working salt mine. A 30-minute guided tram tour and 15-minute ride on a miniature train into the salt caverns is available. Visitors learn about the mining process, geology and history in the museum’s gallery of exhibits and displays. Safari Shuttle is a 1-hour underground tram tour beyond the museum boundaries. Only 12 participants are allowed and riders must be at least 10 years.

Note: For safety, children ages 0-3 are not permitted underground. Museum access is determined by elevator capacity.
