Major General Frederick Funston Boyhood Home and Museum is at 14 S. Washington Ave. The 1860 Victorian-style house was moved to its present location, restored and furnished in period to honor Funston and his sterling military career. After enlisting in the Cuban rebel army in 1896, he won a Medal of Honor for his command of a Kansas regiment in the Philippine American War.
