Kenneth Spencer Research Library is at 1450 Poplar Ln., on the University of Kansas campus. The library contains an extensive collection of rare books, manuscripts, old maps and early photographs. Among the specialties are European books printed in the 15th through 17th centuries; books relating to Ireland and 18th-century England; the history of such sciences as botany, ornithology and zoology; and broad collections of Italian, French and English manuscripts of the 11th through 20th centuries. Items in the Kansas Collection range from the territorial period to the present. The University Archives contain information on the history of The University of Kansas.

Hours: Mon.-Fri. 9-5 (also Sat. 9-1 during spring and fall semesters). Closed major and university holidays.
