Grassroots Art Center, 213 S. Main St., displays one-of-a-kind works by self-taught Midwest folk or outsider artists. Sculptures, totems, woodcarvings, paintings, mosaics, chewing gum and other media are represented in a variety of unusual pieces, including a life-size motorcycle and life-size car crafted entirely of aluminum can pull-tabs. An outdoor courtyard features regional architecture, including native limestone carvings. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.

Hours: Mon.-Sat. 10-5, Sun. 1-5, May-Sept.; Thurs.-Sat. 1-4 (also Sun.-Mon. in Apr. and Oct.), rest of year. Closed major holidays, Oct.-Apr.
